Karingal survey now on

24 April 2012

Karingal is required to survey service users at least annually to assess their satisfaction with service provision. Karingal is currently undertaking this process. Clients and carers, who are randomly selected, are phoned and invited to participate in the survey. This survey is strictly confidential – no identifying data is used. Service Development Manager Meg Parsons said answers provide useful data for service evaluation, improvement and planning.

Local real estate agency backs Karingal

PRD Nationwide Geelong and Lara have formed an alliance to raise money for the newly launched Karingal Foundation. The Foundation aims to assist in future planning of Karingal and to addressing unmet need issues in the disability sector. PRD Nationwide Geelong Director/General Manager Alex Campbell said with their commitment to supporting the local community, his team was pleased to lend a hand and are launching a new campaign to show their support for Karingal.

Middle aged in nursing homes given a voice

The Middle Aged in Nursing Homes (MAINH) support and advocacy group was launched in March, giving a voice to people aged 50 to 64 with a disability living in nursing homes. More than 2000 people helped Karingal celebrate its 60th year when they attended Karnivale in March. Successful merger talks have taken place between Karingal Inc and Create (Geelong) Inc with the proposed date of the merger now scheduled for 1 July 2012. Both the Karingal and Create Boards have endorsed this merger. Over the next few weeks representatives from both organisations will work towards finalising the merger agreement.
